Collection Systems Built for the Life of the Plant
Medium Voltage Collection
Our medium voltage collection systems gather power from across the site and deliver it to the substation efficiently and safely. We install 34.5 kV collection circuits through trenching, plowing, and horizontal directional drilling.
We set pad-mount transformers and switchgear and complete splices and terminations to exacting standards. Each system is validated with VLF withstand, tan delta, and partial discharge testing, giving owners confidence in every circuit.
Technical scope
- 34.5 kV collection systems
- Direct-buried and duct-bank installation via trenching, plowing, and HDD
- Aluminum and copper cable with TRXLPE or EPR insulation, concentric neutral or tape shield
- Pad-mount and skid-mount step-up transformers
- MV splices and terminations: elbows, stress cones, and T-bodies
- Junction boxes, sectionalizing cabinets, and switchgear
- VLF withstand, tan delta, partial discharge, and phasing verification
- Ampacity and thermal analysis coordination (Neher-McGrath)
